Here we have Nicholas operating a train. After a brief explanation regarding scale speed and grades he is operating a train with out going to Lionel speed on the layout. Nick has quickly caught on to the idea of slow and careful operation and mastered the idea of throwing switches and backing trains into tracks off of the main line. He is also doing well at remembering to return the switches back to the normal position, something that many of the rest of us forget from time to time.

Here we have Nicholas displaying the kit he finished building. According to Nick it runs just fine after he tested it out on the layout. Nicholas has just gotten into the robotics club at his school and enjoys reading and building things. He brought a rather complicated LEGO train in to show us that he built last time he was here. Today he used an exacto knife for the first time and seems to be quite good at following directions where technique and or safety is concerned.
