Dick S Accomplishments

Dick joined the club on November of 1992 at location 2, Second Washington Street. He was a member until December 2003 at location 4, the Band Hall. He passed away in January 2014.

A little brute force – George W applies a hammer and chisel to salvage some track from the layout of the late former club member Dick Schroth at the Schroth household in Celeste. George was one of five club members who dismantled the layout at the request of Dick’s widow.

We lost another former club member in late January: Dick Schroth passed on Thursday, January 30, at his home in Celeste. Dick was a long time member and excellent craftsman. He left the club about 5 years ago, because he felt that he was becoming a “crabby old man” and didn’t want to be remembered that way. A couple of club members were attendance for his memorial service in Celeste on Sunday, February 2. He was 81.

Dick had a layout at his home. Bob T took some pictures of his layout in July of 2006. Dick built scenes as subassemblies, then installed them into the layout.
