THE Station—

THE Station— – George W brought the latest version of his model of the Greenville TX MKT depot, which he actually owned some years ago, so he knows a lot about it, and has original architectural drawings of it. That’s George himself on the left, while most of George F is on the right. (Rob D photo)

It’s gonna be big

It’s gonna be big — George W takes a break from painting and trimming the supports of the platform ceiling for his model of the GreenvilleMK&T station. He claims to be anewcomer to modeling, but the quality and care he has lavished on his depot certainly exceeds a beginner level. He has accurately scaled his model, which shows why most buildings cannot be modeled to full scale without squeezingout everything else. The Katy depot is not a large building in real life, but the scale dimensions are bigger than both of the major depots on the club layout.(Rob Dove photo)

A little brute force

A little brute force – George W applies a hammer and chisel to salvage some track from the layout of the late former club member Dick Schroth at the Schroth household in Celeste. George was one of five club members who dismantled the layout at the request of Dick’s widow.
