Rob D's Blog 13 April 2017 Here we have Tom M and Jared working on the coal mine area. The project is going to be the hill side the mine backs up against.

Rob D's Blog 11 February 2016 Ron recently built the head house and hoist from a kit that Bob T purchased and did not have time to build. He is now determining how it will be incorporated into the coal tipple. At this point he is planning on notching the tipple and building the hill side out to support the head house. A vertical wall be used in some fashion and some slight adjustment of the tipple may happen.

Rob D's Blog 24 August 2015 Above and two below are different aspects of the head house to convert our drift mine into a vertical shaft mine. Bob T bought the kit and has been occupied with other things so Ron built it for him.
The large block of foam is just in position to hold it up until everyone decides how the two structures will be combined. There are several schools of thought regarding this at the present time. Some even involve moving it further away and installing conveyors to move the coal from the mine head to the tipple. |
